I finally took "En un llano tan imenso, tan imenso como el cielo voy a podar un jardin para que duerme tu cuerpo...." out of my AIM profile.

que antaño disfruté

It's been a long time... a lot of shit's happened since the last time i posted anything.  We can add France to the list of countries in which drug-related activity has attracted police attention to myself and my friends - Hopefully we'll be adding Italy soon too, only time will tell.

A lot of stuff has happened this month- I never got to go see the new Richard Foreman play.  But, I did get to play a good game of Texas Hold 'Em at the Rahal house (damnit George, you bastard, beginner's luck)   Paris was fun... or more aptly put, a vacation from reality :)  Milan was sweet.

And now I'm in Florence.  I met someone for whom "Sombras nada mas" (or possible "Lo Fatal") might be a philosophy on life - or perhaps it's all a disingenuous act.  No lo so.  And there's the kid that used to be my roommate before he moved out- christ almighty, what a fucking tool.  And then's there's the other roommate, Chuckie.  Good kid, likes to shoot his mouth off, has no conception of "other people" - I don't believe that he understands that there exists a universe beyond the one of which he is the center.  We came to a tacit understanding a few nights ago, though, so things should be cool from now on.  He seems to be the type of person that will concede anything just to be able to remain locked away in his own little dillusion of reality.

Milan was great.  Best 12 hours I've ever spent in any city anywhere :)  It's all about the people - partly why Paris wasn't as much fun as it should have been.  Although, I can't really complain about Paris- within 18 hours of landing, I was blitzed out of my mine :)  Plus, I got to give a nice big F.U. to the 8th floor when I left early and missed half of the "educational/academic" content of the trip :)

In the spirit of Drunken Tom from 1210 singing Suavement on the way back from wherever it was we got trashed,, last night witnessed a rather impressive rendition of part of "En my viejo San Juan"-- "mi cabello blanquio y mi vida se va, y a la muerte me llaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaama, pero no quiero morir, alejado de ti, Puerto Rico del alma!"  All the while trying to keep Claudia from falling over herself :)

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday, I might die

Florence is good for other reasons though - mainly the first 3 verses of "Canción de otoño en primavera".

It's been a while, but I think today warrants a post.  Events today included "Old Wheelchair Guy versus 100 MPH Several Ton Passenger Train" and "Crazy Random Amy Knows Things About Me Eventhough I Don't Know Her."

Today was fucked up. I woke up at 10:00 (the first time in weeks that I've been up before noon) and drove over to Point Pleasant so I could take the train into the city. I had to pay a parking ticket and yesterday was the deadline. So I get on the train. About 20 minutes, the train stops in the middle of an intersection (of the places where the train tracks cross a road). Ambulances start pulling up. Evidently some old dude in a wheelchair decided to play a game of chicken with a several ton speeding passenger train. So after an hour of being locked inside the train, we get moving again. Finally I get to the city and after about 20 minutes ouf walking around John St. I finally find the place to pay my ticket. So I'm waiting for like an hour, and then I get a phone. Someone called me using some kind of internet service. SO that means, who ever called me types a message and the operator reads it to me. I say something and the operator types it to the other person. Evidently some person named Amy thinks she knows me. She knew a few things about me - all of which she could have read here. Oh well. I ended up talking to Jenny about it and found out two things. One, the scholars aren't going to Brazil :(. Instead it could be Puerto Rico (I can deal with that hehe :)). SO then I'm taking the subway Uptown to go eat. I get off at my stop and as I'm walking back, I see Panatda on one of the cars farther back on the same train I was on (randomly). So I run in and ride for another stop. I ate and came home. All in all, I read a lot about Zen on the train

It's been a very long time since the last entry.  This past week has been hell.  Tuesday night I was up really really late writing a paper.  Same thing Wednesday night.  Thursday night - hosptial visit :( Friday night 7 hours of community service and very little sleep.  Saturday 12 hours of community service.  Last night I finally got more than 4 hours of sleep since last weekend - plus I smoked some more... always a good thing :)
